In my early twenties I studied Behavioural Science. During that time I came across sociological theories which have inspired my art ever since.

One sociologist who has inspired me is Erving Goffman and The theory of Dramaturgy. According to Goffman the social life is like a drama and we are playing different roles on "the stage". Behind the stage we remove our masks and prepare for the next scene. Some sociologists suggest, that even when we are alone we see ourselves from other people´s perspectives.

This mentioned theory, as well as several others,  mean a great deal to me, especially when  analysing myself and the structures I exist in. My interpretation of  these theories is presented in my series The Circus.
